Baptism for Children and Adults

Baptism is the ritual by which one enters and is welcomed into the community of those who believe in God's redeeming work, and follow the teachings of Jesus Christ. In other words, Baptism expresses our response to God's love. At baptism, parents and godparents express, on behalf of a child, the desire and the commitment to respond to God's call to follow the example of Jesus Christ. When adults are baptised, they would do the same for themselves.

Baptism is also a celebration, a time to come together with family and friends; remembering that we are loved by God, are part of a wider community, and have a place within God's people.

Baptisms usually take place during our Sunday morning service, when everyone can welcome the child or adult candidate into the church community.

Fr Marius would be delighted to tell you more.
